Dr. Charles Farmer
Charles E. Farmer, Ph.D., is an accomplished educational leader with over 25 years of diverse experience in both rural and suburban school settings, encompassing high socioeconomic and Title I districts. His extensive career has provided him with a unique perspective on the essential building blocks of success in education: relationships and processes. He believes that prioritizing these elements is vital to empowering students to reach their full potential.
Currently, Dr. Farmer serves as the principal of Freedom Middle School in the Franklin Special School District in Tennessee. Under his leadership, the school has achieved remarkable academic growth, earning recognition from the Tennessee Department of Education. In 2024, Freedom Middle was honored as a Model PLC at Work School by Solution Tree, highlighting the successful implementation of collaborative practices within the school.
Throughout his career, Dr. Farmer has had the opportunity to lead both established community schools and the opening of new schools from the ground up, where he focused on assembling high-performing teams to foster lasting traditions. He has also championed strong Response to Intervention (RTI) programs and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), significantly enhancing the educational experience for students and staff.
Dr. Farmer is passionate about sharing his expertise and is available for presentations, coaching, and consultations in areas such as district-level leadership, RTI, Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), and PBIS.
